To Help You Meditate -

Hold an amethyst and citrine while meditating. These stones help you become free from the physical boundaries and inhibitions that can hinder your trip to the astral plane.

Why "cool blue?"

Well just the term when I say it in my mind brings me a definite feeling of peace and comfort - so why not?

I have been writing off and on for my entire life, and for some reason I have a knack for visual description, which is, I think an essential part of meditation or guided visualization.  This does not mean that what I describe is exactly what you absolutely have to see and vice versa - that would defeat the purpose of creating that peaceful place for yourself.

Meditation and visualization are very personal forms of what I like to call emotional and spiritual alchemy.  This can means a couple of  things;  you may relate to a particular foci with greater ease and acuity than I would (meaning your triggers are different than mine),  and your preferences are your own, so a setting in a forest might work better for you that perhaps a field of flowers.  Regardless of what you like, dislike or have no feeling one way or the other towards, one thing still remains:

We all have to find our own way.

Does that mean that we are alone? Certainly not.  What it does mean is that you have to be willing to really dig deep and get to the core - if you don't know yourself, then you will need to, in order to get the maximum benefit from any meditation time.  Getting to know ourselves is a truly scary business;  we take great pains and go to such lengths to form a persona as we grow up, that it will take time and sometimes a little pain to peel back the layers of the onion.  I suppose it's akin to peeling off a scab on your kneecap.  The scab has a purpose; it's the body's natural safeguard against further intrusion by germs and other things that might be harmful, as well as providing a semi toughened area that protects the damaged tissue underneath while it regenerates and heals.  Instead of a scab, you can use the deep peace as your protection barrier against hurt, anger, disappointment, etc.  These emotions are not 'bad', but we need to recognize them and put them in proper perspective. They are just as much a part of us as happiness, laughter, excitement.

So, sometimes to get to the peace, you go through a little pain.  Believe me it is very worth it!!

I am planning on providing articles and resources on meditation, visualization, and various methods of relaxation.  I would love this to be a partnership - between myself and all of you who visit here, because if I am not consciously trying to serve the needs of the readership, then there is no reason for you or anyone else to come back for a return visit.

So, should you want to comment, contribute, or just say 'hello', feel free to drop me a line at athena@disorderlywitches.net .  I would love to hear from you!
